Marisa Oka

A mother both at home and at the studio, Marisa loves to watch people grow by doing what they love. Her journey started with visiting numerous pole dancing studios in the greater Seattle area where she learned about the endless possibilities of strength and grace that could only be found in pole dancing. She then traveled to many places like Vancouver, BC, Utah, and Nevada to train with different performers and instructors to broaden and perfect her own art. This eventually lead to her obtaining an instructor certification with the world-renowned Fawnia Dietrich, an entrepreneur to one of the first pole dancing schools established in the United States.

In 2008, Spinderella Studios was born right in her backyard. A little unconventional but not a surprise for a woman who finds her second home while flying and dancing in the company of other women. And in 2013, she expanded to Woodinville, opening a studio at the Junction on 144th.

"It is a great honor to watch the student surpass the teacher."

She is a woman who thrives on watching her students develop and surpass their goals and even takes great pride in those that go beyond her level of skill. A small business with big dreams – even now she aspires to expand her studio by incorporating other forms of aerial performance and fitness.

Outside of pole dancing, she is a full-time wife and mother who loves to relax with a nice glass of red wine. As for her music of choice...

"It changes as much as the weather in Seattle."
